Welcome to the EXPO Explosion located in the city of Belton, Texas, hosted at the EXPO dome.
December 30th, 2022 and December 31st, 2022 will hold this year’s event. All divisions will be represented, with a full pole vault meet. This meet will include medals for the top three (3) places.
THE SIX DRILLS
Coach Barry & his PV-ATL athletes will teach and demonstrate six pole vault drills for athletes and coaches for all levels.
PVT-ATL emphasizes the Petrov/Bubka Model from Alan Launder’s Beginner to Bubka: Isinbayeva too!
Coach Barry will explain some of the drills both Sergei Bubka and Yelena Isanbayeva practiced under Coach Vitaly Petrov.
We also use material from Dave Butler’s The Pole Vault: A Violent Ballet. The “six drills” will teach the proper run, plant, and movements after the take-off.
